A day after quitting National Conference, Devender Rana, Surjit Singh Slathia join BJP


A day after they left the National Conference, Devender Rana and Surjit Singh Slatiya joined the Bhartiya Janata party on Monday. Ministers of the Hardeep Singh Puri Union, Dharmendra Pradhanand Jitendra Singh welcomed both leaders to a party in New Delhi today.

Resolution Bjp, which is desperate to become a key political force in Jammu and Kashmir, was hit in the arm when the party was joined by two prominent leaders who left the National Conference on Sunday.

Rana said that he and Slatia would like to work at the BJP to promote their idea of ​​the Jammu Declaration, which focuses on storytelling from the Jammu region for all of Jammu and Kashmir. He said the narrative would strengthen the secular fabric and spirit of the region.

BJP General Secretary Tarun Chu, party leaders from Jammu and Kashmir – Nirmal SinghJugal Kishore Sharma and Ravinder Raina among others were also present.

Speaking at the event, Raina said the BJP is focused on gaining more than 50 seats in Jammu and Kashmir and on having a BJP chief minister in union territory.

After joining the party, Devendra Rana said that it was time for Jammu to lay out the political narrative about the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and others, we will endeavor to create an inclusive narrative about Jammu at J&K. We will not allow the Dixon plan and their supporters to succeed, ”Rana said.

Prior to his resignation, Rana was party president in Jammu province and was considered close to Abdullah.

Rana also proposed the January 30 “Jammu Declaration”, a charter designed to foster unity and trust between the different communities and the different regions of Jammu and Kashmir.

Rana said that his only concern is the interests of Jammu and the wishes and aspirations of the people in the region. The Jammu Declaration is an attempt in this direction, where people from all walks of life, including political parties, must unite, “he added.
