Anette Kontaveit extended her winning streak to 12 matches by beating Karolina Plishkova 6: 4 6: 0 to secure a spot in the WTA semi-finals.

The 25-year-old Estonian has won 28 of her last 30 matches, including the league title in Ostrava. Prior to that, she had a record of 19-13 per year.

“I really enjoy being on the court, just having a good time. I think this is the main reason why I am doing so well. I really feel like I can fight everyone, ”Kontaveit said on Friday.

Kontaveit, who has risen from the 30th place in the ranking to the top ten since she started working with Dmitry Tursunov at the Cincinnati Masters, took a place in the final four of the tournament.

“I think every win at the end of the year gave me more confidence,” Kontaveit said.

“I also got some good advice from my new coach. I think he brought new energy to the team. ”

In the last match on Friday, Garbine Muguruza got together to beat Barbora Kreichikova 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 and continue the fight for the title.

To reach the semifinals for the second time in her career, the Spaniard (1: 1) needs a Sunday victory over Kontaveit (2: 0) and a victory over Plishkova (1: 1).
