Shinde tweeted that he will never forget Balasaheb’s ideas of power and never will.

“We are the hardcore Shiv Sainiks of Balasaheb Thackeray. Balasaheb gave us the Hindutva teaching. We will never forget Balasaheb’s ideas and Anand Dige’s teachings on strength and never will,” he tweeted in Marathi.

Shinde is considered a powerful leader in the Sena camp. He has influence in the Thane region and is often credited with expanding the Seine into other parts of Maharashtra.

It is believed that he was upset with the performance of the leadership of the Seine. He was also suspended by the party leadership for some time and did not participate in MLC campaign events.

The development came as the Shiv-led alliance suffered an embarrassing defeat in the MLC polls, which resulted in the BJP gaining one additional seat in a cross-vote in the governing alliance.

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena expelled Eknat Shinde from the Legislative Party group. He was replaced by Sewri MLA Ajay Chaudhary, according to ANI news agency.
