EXCLUSIVE: “I really wish Bhoot Police could have a theatrical release,” says Saif Ali Khan : Bollywood News – Bollywood Hungama

Actor Saif Ali Khan is in the headlines of his film today. Bhoot police which received an OTT release on Amazon Prime Video on September 10, 2021. The other day, the actor started an exclusive chat with Bollywood Hungama and spoke in detail about the film. He also mentioned how he prepared for his character and the horror comedy genre in general.

What attracted you the most about the Bhoot Police script and why you signed up for the film?

I think the nicest feeling any actor or me as an actor has is when you realize the potential of a script and know that people will love it no matter what. I fell in love with Pavan from the moment I saw him. I thought that we would understand each other and that we are interested in the same subjects. When I read the script, I just thought I needed to be in this movie and I really like the characters, be they Vibhuti or Chironji.

What do you think the script would be if the film came out?

I would really like for us to have a theatrical release, but now is uncertain. So I think it is beneficial for everyone to do the deals that we do. But I would like to say that if the movie came out in theaters, it could do well because horror and comedy are very collective and you really enjoy hanging out with other people. I had high hopes, everything could turn out very well for me. But you never know whether it is comfortable for people to come at this time, eat popcorn and laugh together. I think we are fortunate to have such a platform as a platform because now is not the safest time to release films.

How easy or difficult was it for you to fall into the shoes of supernatural characters?

It was not as easy as I thought. I just took everything, and it was only after I put on the costume and put on my makeup that I began to understand what this character was like. Some things limit you, I mean that Vibhuti could be anything from a long-haired beggar to anything. So, when I saw myself in front of the mirror, I realized that it would be so. The first day was really awkward, but later I realized that the character was pretty wacky. So, there are things like hand gestures, witchcraft or a little madness in the eyes, so this is kind of an over-the-top character in some places and definitely not a normal person. That’s how we saved it and made it bigger than life.

Where did you get your preference for the character? Who or who was the figure you were following?

No, I mean that there are so many influences that have influenced my character, there are some different things. There’s a Japanese actor in my head, I mean I didn’t copy anyone, but Toshiro Mifune was who Pavan was talking about. I got what he meant by just playing the part without worrying about being a good guy or a bad guy. I followed exactly this key. But I don’t think anyone has influenced that much or that much, and that came from the script.

What can you say about the horror comedy genre, since this is your second time since Go Goa Gone to enter it?

I’ve always loved this genre and I think it’s fun and entertaining. Go Goa Gone was more urban and niche, and this one (Bhoot Police) is more versatile and rooted. I think they are both great characters and the fact that this is a horror comedy and I have always wanted to do a horror comedy for years. We didn’t have time to do it, while everyone did it once. But there was something special about the Bhoot Police script that made it special, like a brother road movie and an adventure movie. This is not only a horror comedy, but something more.

Will you continue to do horror-comedy films in the future?

I think that we can definitely make a good franchise out of this. We need to work on this. Besides, I would also like to do commercial entertainment if I can. At least that’s how I feel now, and it’s good if the whole family is watching the movie together. Even many people who work with us also watched this film and even on TV. So it was a good collective experience, and I look forward to doing something else like that.
