Facebook Inc has slowed down new product launches in recent days, the Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter.
The report says executives at the social media company have also suspended some work on existing products.
Facebook did not immediately respond to Reuters’ request for comment.
Facebook said last week that it is suspending the child version of its Instagram photo-sharing app amid growing opposition from US lawmakers and rights groups, citing security concerns.
Facebook has come under fire in recent weeks after Frances Haugen, who worked as a product manager for a civilian disinformation group at Facebook, said she was the whistleblower who provided documents corroborating a recent Wall Street Journal investigation.
In addition to the problems, he also experienced a six-hour crash on Monday due to an “incorrect configuration change” that prevented 3.5 billion users from accessing his social media and messaging services such as WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger. …
