Hyderabad police arrested a filmmaker for assaulting Tollywood actress Shala Chaurasia last Sunday. Kommu Babu works on set and lives in the Indira Nagar area of Banjara Hills, Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar told reporters. The 21-year-old is a native of the Mahabubnagar district of Telangana city and has been found involved in several cases in the past, and in one case he even served a prison term.
Police seized the actor’s iPhone, which he grabbed after attacking her at KBR Park in Banjara Hills on November 14. The police discovered that the defendant was involved not only in the abduction, but also in the molestation of his victims. “We are interrogating him further,” he said.
The commissioner said the arrest was made after a physical examination of 80 people and it took time to solve the case.
Anjani Kumar said the young man previously worked in agriculture and worked in a film studio. He said that when hiring him, the HR manager obviously did not check his background. The commissioner said companies can benefit from police assistance during recruitment.
The defendants attacked the actor on the outside walkway of KBR park at around 8:30 pm on November 14. The Banjar Hills Police filed the case.
The actor, injured in the attack, later stated that she had escaped certain death. She also revealed that the perpetrator also molested her when she passed out for a few moments after he attacked her. She said that when she woke up and resisted, he lifted a boulder and was about to throw it on her head when she kicked, climbed the iron fence and jumped onto the main road to escape.
