Jehan Daruvala, a Formula 2 driver from India, will test drive the Formula 1 giant McLaren on Tuesday and Wednesday. This is a small but important step in Daruvala’s quest to become the country’s third F1 driver.
The 23-year-old, who has never driven a Formula 1 car before, will get his first taste of it when he hits the track at Silverstone. Daruwala currently participates in the Red Bull Racing junior program, driving in Formula 2 for Prema Racing. Earlier this month, he finished fifth on the podium of the season in Baku. He called this season decisive for himself in the context of a place in Formula 1. By earning his McLaren test drive, he seems to have taken an important step in that direction.
In May 2022, Daruvala took his fourth podium of the Formula 2 season. taking second place at Monaco’s legendary street circuit. The 23-year-old chalked up a landmark result, his 11th F2 sprint podium finish.
