Happy Birthday Rajkumar Hirani: 3 Idiots of Sanju, here are the films that define the famous director

One of the most respected and successful storytellers of Hindi cinema, Rajkumar Hirani is arguably the only Hindi filmmaker with 100% success. Although he has directed only 5 films during his prolific career, his vision and storytelling style have revolutionized and reshaped the dynamics of filmmaking in India, earning him immense admiration from the public, industry and critics. Today the director turns a year by a year, and we are looking at his 5 box-office blockbusters:

Munnabhai MBBS (2003)

His very debut film, starring Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Varsi and Vidya Balan, earned him the title of great storyteller. Not only has the film become one of the worst this year, but the cute characters Manna and Zirkut have become household names. The comedy drama was an amusing excuse to introduce the righteous principles of Mahatma Gandhi.

Lage Raho Munnabhai (2006)

The Munnabhai MBBS sequel featured the same cast as the first, which was well received by the audience and shared a social message.

3 idiots (2009)

Touted as one of the 10 best and most groundbreaking Hindi films, 3 Idiots is like a curriculum for any college engineering student. Based on real life competition and education, 3 Idiots was fun and addicting with a heartfelt social message.

PC (2014)

Post the colossal success ‘3 Idiots’ with which Raju Hirani collaborated Amir Khan once again for an interesting and raucous story about a man, an alien, from another dimension, alarming the people of Earth about abuses in the name of religion and God. The film also features Anushka Sharma and the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

Sanju (2018)

One of the biggest pickers of that year, Sanju brought together Hirani and a versatile people. Ranbir Kapoor portraying veteran actor Sanjay Dutt for the first time on screen. Vicky Kaushal and Anushka Sharma also contributed to the touching storytelling, and won numerous awards for its plot, as well as huge acclaim for Ranbir.
