Shah said he firmly believes that the time is not far off when those who cannot speak their native language will feel an inferiority complex.
The interior minister said that once the people of the country decide and its languages become the language of government, India will automatically return the treasury of knowledge of Maharishi Patanjali and Panini.
He said it was necessary to rid the youth of the inferiority complex inculcated during British rule.
“We need to create an environment where people are proud to speak their native language,” he said.
The interior minister also said that efforts have been made to spark a lot of controversy over the Hindi language, but that time has passed.
Shah said that the communication and development of Indian languages is a central element of the national education policy, and so far the engineering and medical courses have been translated into eight Indian languages.
“Today I am very proud to say that not a single file is written in English at the Union Ministry of the Interior. We have completely switched to the official language (Hindi), ”he said.
Calling Hindi “sahi” (friend) of all indigenous languages, he emphasized that there could be no “antarvirodh” (disagreement) between friends.
“There is no difference between Hindi and our indigenous languages. Hindi is a friend of all indigenous languages and there can be no difference between friends, ”he repeated.
“This year, Hindi lovers promise that by the time we complete 100 years of independence, the indigenous languages and Raj Bhasha (the official language) will be so strong that we will not need the help of a foreign language. ,” he said.
The Shah also expressed regret that Hindi was unable to achieve his full growth and his status in independent India.
“This work should have been completed immediately after the declaration of independence,” he said.
“There are three pillars of independence – swaraj (self-government), swadeshi (using household products) and svabhasha (indigenous language). We have swaraj, but swadeshi and svabhasa are lagging behind, ”he said.
Shah said that although Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken steps to ensure the growth of the swadeshi, the swabhasha is lagging behind.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi first spoke about swadeshi through Make in India. One of our goals that was left behind was svabhasa. We must remember this and make it a part of our life, ”he said.
Shah also praised Prime Minister Modi for promoting Hindi throughout the world.
“No prime minister has received as much worldwide recognition as Narendra Modiji. He expounded India’s world view in Raj Bhasha (Hindi) and heightened Raj Bhasha’s pride, ”he said.
