‘I don’t have enough words to describe how we are feeling right now’: DC skipper Pant after loss to CSK in Qualifier 1

It’s safe to say that it wasn’t the Delhi Capitals (DC) night in Dubai as they descended the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL 2021 qualifier on Sunday. The team, led by Rishab Pant, was defeated by 4 wickets, and after the match the skipper expressed obvious despondency.

After being placed in Washington, a fifties courtesy from newbie Prithvi Shaw (60) and skipper Rishab Pant (51 *) posted 172/5 for 20 overs. In response, Robin Uthappa (63) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (70) sewed a giant 110-pass post for the second wicket. CSK then lost 3 wickets for 2 overs, but the cameo roles of Moin Ali (16 of 12) and captain MC Doni (18 * of 6) helped the Chennai team win a dizzying victory.

Speaking to TV presenters during the post-match presentation ceremony, the 24-year-old joked:

“Obviously, this is very disappointing, there are not enough words to describe how we are feeling right now. The only thing we can do is correct our mistakes and move on to the next one. I thought Tom played great throughout the match, the last one. I thought a bowler who’s having a great day would be better off using him one last time.

“I thought the score was decent, but they were out of the game on a power play and we were short of wickets and that was the main difference. As cricketers, we will correct our mistakes, learn from them, and move on to the next. Hopefully we can win and play in the final. “

Delhi still has a chance to advance to the final as they face the Eliminator winner between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Qualifier 2.
