The I&B Minister spoke with show host Karan Johar at the 52nd IFFI Opening Ceremony. It was at Karan’s insistence that he repeated the iconic phrase, stating that it would be wrong to quote just one dialogue in a country with more than a billion people.

But certain dialogues, Thakur added, did indeed take root in people’s memories, and one of them was definitely what the character Shah Rukh Khan said in Chuck De India.

The film festival, founded in 1952, is held annually in honor of the outstanding achievements of world cinema. This year it runs from 20 to 28 November. The festival is co-hosted by the Film Festivals Authority (under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting) and the Goa Entertainment Society of the Goa government. The festival provides an ideal platform for understanding and appreciating the film culture of different peoples in the context of their social and cultural ethics.
