Indian women’s football team to play in Brazil

India’s women’s national soccer team will face the World Cup runner-up Brazil for the first time at an international tournament later this month in preparation for next year’s AFC Asian Championship.

Chile, ranked 37th in the FIFA rankings, and Venezuela (56th) are the other teams that the 57th-ranked Indians will face in the tournament from November 25 to December 1 in Manaus, Brazil. … India will host guests on November 25, Chile on November 28 and Venezuela on December 1.

The seventh world racket in Brazil, runner-up in the 2007 World Cup and Olympic silver medalist in 2004 and 2008, tops the six-time best soccer player in the world, Marta, who is widely regarded as the greatest soccer player in the world. However, it is not yet known whether the 35-year-old will play in this tournament.

“This will be the first time the Indian senior national team will play against Brazil, Chile or Venezuela,” the All India Football Federation (AIFF) said in a statement.

The guided tour is part of the team’s preparation for the Asian Cup, which will take place in Mumbai and Pune from January 20th.

“As a governing body, we want to provide the best training platform for our women’s senior team as they prepare for the 2022 AFC Asia Women’s Championships in India,” said AIFF Secretary General Kushal Das.

“Brazil and Chile are the regular teams of the World Championships, and playing against such an opponent will help our team.”
