The Kerala Blasters missed a great chance to win their first Indian Super League win and were content with a goalless draw with North East United at Nehru Stadium in Fatorda on Thursday night.
Argentine Blasters striker Pereira Diaz and midfielder Sahal Abdul Samad both missed great chances, but a goalless draw, the first in ISL eighth edition, earned the two teams their first points this season.
Both sides suffered bitter 2-4 defeats in the first round and appeared to be a little wary in the first half.
The first half was slow, there were many penalties and both teams struggled to keep the ball.

The moon stands out
Blasters midfielder Adrian Luna stood out from the crowd, winning the ball frequently and making great runs and passes, but didn’t get much support from the others.
The Blasters’ first lucky chance came in the 36th minute, when Diaz found his way into an almost empty box on the left.
He danced past the defender and ended up in the right place, but delayed the attempt a little and shot. In the fifth minute of the second half, Vincy Baretto, who made his debut, made a brilliant run down the right flank and sent a promising cross into the box, but Samad, who ran and got it, sent the ball towards goal under pressure.
Towards the end, North-East goalkeeper Subhasish Roy made a brilliant save, refuting the Spaniard Alvaro Vasquez, whose arrival in the 70th minute seemed to give new life to the Blasters attack.
Much was expected from Northeast striker Deshorn Brown, but it looks like he was having a day off.
