Javia enters the ITF men’s tennis semifinals

Dev Javia continued his strong play by beating French Nicholas Tepmahk 7-6 (2), 2-6, 7-6 (4) in the quarter-finals of the $ 15,000 ITF Men’s Tennis Tournament at the Indore Tennis Club on Friday.

In a battle of wits that lasted 2 hours and 26 minutes, Javia was leading 5-2 in the decisive match, but Tepmahk continued, holding a match point on his serve in the eighth game. Hawia, 19, missed another tie-break match point before closing it.

In the semi-finals, Xavia will face Philip Sekulich of Australia, who beat SD Prajwal Dev in eighth place in five games.

Former national champion Dalvinder Singh beat Bharat Kumaran 5-7, 6-2, 7-6 (2) in the third set in a three-hour fight to advance to the semifinals against Manish Sureshkumar, seeded second.
