Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 340-kilometer Purvanchal Highway in Uttar Pradesh on November 16. The expressway will connect eastern and western Uttar Pradesh.
The expressway, built at Rs 42,000 crores, starts from Chand Saray village in Lucknow. It will pass through Lucknow, Barabanki, Ameti, Ayodhya, Sultanpur, Ambedkar Nagar, Azamgarh, Mau and Gazipur.
Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh State Yogi Adityanath has begun construction of the six-lane Purvanchal Expressway from Lucknow to Gazipur via Azamgarh. The expressway could be expanded to eight lanes in the future.
The government, under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath, argues that the Expressway will not only open the way for industrial activity, but will also boost the development of Purvanchala and provide jobs for a large number of people.
Ahead of the 2022 Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath’s government will focus on five major development projects related to roads and airlines. Some of these projects will be completed before the elections, and work on others will continue after the elections.
The Uttar Pradesh state government regularly monitors the operation of four major expressways, of which three are underway and the fourth has not yet begun.
These highways will connect every part of Uttar Pradesh to the capital city of Lucknow.
The completion of these development projects will give BJP a big boost to represent the development as a backbone in the state legislature. Saffron party leaders hope these developments will help the party win elections in Uttar Pradesh.
