Trailer Shabaash Mithu, starring Taapsee Pannu, just released. The film is a biopic based on the life of ace cricketer Mitali Raj, former captain of the Indian women’s cricket team. Mitali Raj has a 23-year career in international cricket and has scored over 10,000 ODI runs breaking several records. The film follows her journey to become a cricketer against all odds.
In the trailer, Taapsee Pannu plays Mitha, a girl who dreams of becoming a cricketer. However, she is mocked for this desire by everyone except her trainer, played by Vijay Raaz. He sees potential in her and takes her on the girls’ cricket team. However, Mitha does not come easily as she is mocked and ridiculed. She learns to resist ridicule and resist society. The film promises to be an inspiring biopic, if a bit trite.
