Shilpa Shetty responds to cheating accusations, says she is pained to see her reputation ‘damaged and dragged’

Actor Shilpa Shetty Kundra issued a statement following a fraud complaint filed against her and her husband, Raj Kundra. Businessman filed a complaint against Shilpa Shetty, Raj Kundra and Director of SFL Fitness PVT ltd Kashiff Khan, accusing them of fraud and criminal intimidation. The businessman demanded Rs 1.51 crores in damages.

In a statement on Twitter, Shilpa wrote: “Woke up from an FIR registered with the Raj and in my name! Shocked! To set the record, SFL Fitness, a venture run by Kashiff Khan. He obtained the rights to the SFL brand name to open SFL gyms across the country. All transactions were made by him, and he was the person in charge in banking and day-to-day affairs. We are not aware of any of his transactions, and we have not received any rupees from him for them. All franchisees worked directly with Kashiff. The company closed in 2014 and was wholly under the control of Kashiff Khan. I have worked very hard over the past 24 years and it hurts to see my name and reputation deteriorate and stretch so weakly to cause my eyes. My rights as a law abiding citizen of India must be protected. “

The applicant submitted that he had been assured that SFL Fitness would franchise him and open a gym and spa in Hadapsar and Koregaon in neighboring Pune, but this did not happen, according to FIR. Later, when the applicant demanded the return of his money, he was allegedly threatened, the police officer said, quoting the complaint.

Based on the complaint, the Bandra police registered the FIR under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 420 (fraud), 120-B (conspiracy), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 34 (general intent). The case is under investigation.

Prior to that, Raj Kundra was arrested on charges of involvement in a porn app case. He was released in September.
