Singer Chinmayi Sripad and her actor husband Rahul Ravindran have welcomed twins, a girl and a boy. They named their newborns Driptah and Sharvas. The singer also addressed the messages she received about taking her children through surrogacy.
Chinmayi shared the motherhood news on social media. She tweeted: “Driptach and Sharvas are the new and forever center of our universe. ❤️ @rahullr_23″. She also posted two adorable photos of her babies’ hands.
In an Instagram post, Chinmayi responded to all those who messaged her asking if she became a mother through surrogacy. She revealed that she had a caesarean section and sang bhajan during childbirth.
She wrote: “I really love these people who write to me in private messages asking if I gave birth to twins through a surrogate mother just because I did not publish my pregnant photos. Only those who were my closest circle knew because I was protecting myself.” She added that she will always keep an eye on her personal life and also won’t be sharing photos of her children anytime soon.
“I have been and always will be extremely cautious about my personal life, my family, my circle of friends. Photos of our children will also not be in our social networks for a long time. And if you need to know, I actually *sang* bhajan during the c-section when our twins were born. Get control of it, more on that later. But that’s enough for now,” she added.
Singer Chinmayi Sripad and actor Rahul Ravindran got married in 2014.
