Telangana CM KCR announces Rs 3 lakh ex-gratia for kin of farmers died in protests

On Saturday, the Telangana government announced a donation of Rs 300 to the families of deceased farmers who died as farmers campaigned against the Center’s three agricultural laws.

State Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao also called on the Center to pay compensation in the amount of 25 lakhs to each family.

The announcement came a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that three agricultural laws passed by the Center would be canceled.

TRS Minister and son of Chief Minister K.T. Rama Rao said: “I am proud to be honored @TelanganaCMO #KCR Garu for announcing ₹ 3 ex gratia lakhs to all 750-plus farmers who died fighting #FarmLaws in NCR. He also demanded that the Government of India declare ₹ 25 lakh ex gratia to each farm family and also withdraw all cases unconditionally. ”
