Watford stuns United

Manchester United coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was on the verge of being fired after Watford beat the Red Devils 4-1 on Saturday.

United have suffered their fourth defeat in their last five Premier League games, leaving them 12 points behind Chelsea leader Chelsea 3-0 at Leicester.

Josh King put Watford ahead at Vicarage Road, while Ismaila Sarr doubled the lead. Donny van de Beek played one goal for the visitors, but United defender Harry Maguire was sent off before João Pedro and Emmanuel Dennis saw no doubt about it. Antonio Rudiger’s opening goal and N’Golo Kante’s long-range shot put Chelsea under control before Christian Pulisic left the bench to score in the second half.

Borussia Dortmund captain Marco Reus scored late, closing the gap to Bundesliga leader Bayern Munich in a 2-1 win over Stuttgart. Bayern were defeated by Augsburg on Friday.
