The Bihar government has decided to start online lessons for students in grades 1-5 in public schools starting June 28. While children in grades 6-12 received their lessons online, over 1 billion students in grades 1-5 did not. were covered online through the Doordarshan channel.
The state has begun a phased unlock since last month. However, primary schools are likely to reopen in the final phase.
State Project Director of Bihar Education Project Council (BEPC) Sanjay Kumar Singh told Indian express“We need to develop teaching materials for students in grades 1-5, as we did for grades 6-12 during the first and second isolation. We must consult with experts to develop rich yet engaging content for younger students. ” The BEPC is the Department of Education’s central policy development and implementation agency.
