BSP to fight solo in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand elections: Mayawati

Dismissive reports of the alliance before the survey, Party Bahujan Samaj supremo Mayawati Sunday announced that the party will take place solo in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

Rejecting reports of ties to AIMIM, led by Asaduddin Owaysi, Mayawati said the party would fight for state elections alone in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. She also added that the party is only in alliance with Shiromani Akali Dal in the upcoming polls in Punjab.

“This news has been broadcast on the media news channel since yesterday that AIMIM and BSP will fight together in the upcoming elections to the UP meeting. This news is completely false, misleading and unfounded. There is not an ounce of truth in this, and BSP categorically denies it, ”she tweeted.

This comes after the party’s disappointing results in recently concluded state opinion polls. BSP performed poorly in the Panchayat polls, finishing in the distant third place. Bjp and SP.

In Punjab, BSP and SAD have teamed up after a 25-year hiatus after participating in the 1996 Lok Sabha polls when they won 11 of the 13 seats in the Punjab. In its alliance with the SAD, BSP will compete for 8 of its 20 seats in Doab (Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Navanshehr and Kapurthala districts), which has 23 Assembly seats.

While BSP chief Mayawati called the alliance a “new political and social initiative” that will lead to progress and prosperity in the Punjab, Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal called it a “new day” in public policy.
