Delhi govt launches ‘Desh ke Mentor’ programme to provide career guidance to school students

Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejrival On Monday, a program was launched to provide career guidance to citizens who have achieved success in their fields to students in Delhi’s public schools.

The Desh Ke Mentor program involves the “adoption” of 1 to 10 public school students who can be mentored by citizens who are successful in their fields.

Mentors set aside 10 minutes each week to guide students over the phone. Interested citizens can adopt from 1 to 10 children enrolled in the city’s public schools as part of the initiative.

“If our students receive the right guidance, they can excel in all areas of life. We launched this program to help them chart a future path with mentors who will help them move beyond the role that their teachers play, ”Kejriwal said at the presentation.

In August, the Delhi government announced that Bollywood actor Sonu Sood would be a brand ambassador for the mentors program.

“If you are young and want to mentor Delhi’s students and want to help them in the right direction of their careers, then call the missed phone 7500040004,” Delhi Minister of Education Manish Sisodia tweeted.
