Delhi Govt school to get sports complex – Times of India


NEW DELHI: Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has instructed officials to begin construction of a sports complex at the Girls’ Public High School (GSSS) in the Kohat enclave. The new complex will include a swimming pool, tennis and badminton courts, designed to prepare future medalists in sports.

On Saturday, Sisodia visited and assessed ongoing work on infrastructure development in Delhi’s public schools for the fourth day in a row.

“Sport is as important as study for the all-round development of children. Along with providing better education, the Delhi government is also committed to providing them with the best sports facilities. By developing world-class infrastructure in its schools, the government is also creating world-class sports facilities for children to benefit from, exercise, earn medals and glorify the country, ”Sisodia said.

He also visited GBSSS Prashant Vihar, Sarvodaya Co-Ed Vidyalaya Sector-8 Rohini and GGSSS Saraswati Vihar where construction work for the new classes is underway. About 100 new classrooms are under construction at GBSSS Prashant Vihar. A block with 120 new classrooms is under construction in Sarvodaya Co-Ed Vidyalaya Sector 8 Rohini.
