The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday issued two red warnings of heavy and very heavy rainfall for isolated locations in eastern and western Madhya Pradesh. According to senior meteorologist P.K. Saha from IMD in Bhopal, Bhainsdehi district in Betul district, experienced heavy rainfall (275 mm) in the last 24 hours ending at 8:30 and 16 districts experienced heavy, very heavy and extremely heavy rainfalls during the same period.
“A well-defined low pressure zone has formed over the northwest of the Bay of Bengal. In addition, the monsoon trough runs over the Rewa area, which belongs to the MP, and the coastal trough runs from the coast of Maharashtra to Kerala, ”the official said. adding that the events caused rainfall in the state.
