Fifteen retired IPS officers hailed the government’s actions in Jammu and Kashmir – in particular the repeal of Section 370 – in an open letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The list of officers includes former DGP officer Jammu and Kashmir S.P. Waid, former IPS Gujarat Human Resources Officer Geeta Jori and former CBI interim director M. Nageshwara Rao. Ten of them are former DGPs.
The letter describes the government’s actions as “a painstaking, courageous and determined effort to resolve the difficult Kashmir issue.”
The letter says the latest initiative by the central government to reach out to political stakeholders to build confidence is exemplary.
