KISS holds its first convocation – Times of India

BHUBANESWAR: Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) Bhubaneswar, considered a university, celebrated its first virtual convocation on Sunday. He conferred honorary DLitt degrees to Odishi Governor Ganesha Lalu and three distinguished Odias.

In addition to the governor, the university has awarded honorary DLitt degrees to three other well-known Odias – Controller and Auditor General of India Girish Chandra Murmu, MP for Kesses County in Kenya and founding chairman of the Mediheal Group of Hospitals Kenya Swarup Ranjan Mishra and fashion designer. and costume designer, New York, Bibhu Mohapatra.

In 1992-1993, the institution had only 125 students, but now it has about 30,000 students. “The development of education is the development of the country,” – the founder of KISS and KIIT Achyuta Samantha.

KISS Chancellor Satya S. Tripathi, Pro-Chancellor Upendra Tripati, Vice Chancellor Deepak Kumar Bechera and other institution officials also spoke on the occasion.

Malho Mardi (2019 batch), School of Tribal Management and Prashant Majhi (2020 batch), School of Indigenous Knowledge, Science and Technology, won the Founder Gold Medal for providing the highest CGPA across the university across all PG programs.
