Konkan Railway train derails after being hit by massive landslide in Goa

Amid heavy rains hitting the Konkan region, a train from Mangalore bound for Mumbai was hit by a massive landslide in Goa. Shortly after the train derailed, local communications identified the train as 01134 Mangaluru Jn – CST Terminus Express Special, which was changed through Madgaon Londa Miraj due to the Vashishti River flooding.

The train derailed at the Dudhsagar-Sonaulim section of Goa, the engine and the first general derailed. The passengers were not injured.

According to the latest known reports, the passengers of the injured carriage were transferred to other carriages, and the train was sent back to Kulem.

Meanwhile, on Thursday, some 6,000 passengers were stranded as trains on the Konkan route in the Ratnagiri area were suspended due to a river flooding due to heavy rains. However, the train stop on the Konkan Railway was removed.

Parts of Goa, including Sattari and Bicholim Tehsils in the north and Dharbandora in the south, are subject to flooding and large numbers of homes have been flooded as water levels in some rivers have risen after heavy rains in the past. several days.
