NIOS celebrates 32nd Foundation Day in presence of renowned educationists


On November 23rd, NIOS celebrated its 32nd Founding Day in the presence of renowned educators.

The National Institute for Open Education (NIOS) on Tuesday, November 23, celebrated its 32nd Founding Day in the presence of many of the country’s renowned educators. The main guests of the event were Professor JS Rajput, Padmashri, former director of NCERT and former chairman of NCTE.

The guests of honor at the event were all former NIOS Chairmen, Professor M. Mukhopadhyay, Professor N.K. Ambasht, Shri M.K. Pant, Dr. Sitansu S. Jena, Professor K.B. Sharma. Father Kunankal and Professor Mohan B. Menon were also virtually present.

Speaking at the event, Chairman Professor Saroj Sharma gave a welcome speech and took the opportunity to congratulate and praise the tireless efforts of the entire NIOS team. She also said that a mentor assignment for NIOS Virtual Open Schools has been introduced and is now available online and in an app for intermediate, high school, vocational, and Indian Sign Language (ISL).

The main guest of Padmashri Prof. J.S. Rajput congratulated the chairman prof. Saroja Sharmu with her consistent efforts to innovate at NIOS. Also, invited guests of honor gave an inspiring and motivating speech and praised the contributions of each NIOS member.

At the event, the main guest opened the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav app for NIOS students, and the chair thanked Vaidehi Vyas, a student of Bhartiya Gyan Parampar from NIOS, for her remarkable achievements.
