Officials said Monday that all Covishield vaccinations scheduled for June 29 at government centers in Gautam Buddha Nagar have been pushed back to July 5. The decision was made for “unavoidable” reasons, according to a statement by chief physician Deepak Ohri.
“Vaccinations for all people who were allocated an online watch for Covishield on June 29 (Tuesday) have been postponed for inevitable reasons. Now they will be given the vaccine on July 5 (Monday), ”Ohri said.
“However, vaccination with covaxin will continue according to the schedule on June 29th. While vaccinations on June 30 will also continue on schedule, ”said the senior physician.
The deferral order applies only to public vaccination centers and not to private institutions, Ohri told PTI.
More than 11.70 lakhs of COVID-19 vaccinations have been administered so far in Gautam Budd Nagar, according to information available on the Cowin portal, which is the second largest among all districts of the state after Lucknow (13.91 lakhs).
Of the total doses administered to Gautam Buddh Nagar, 10.66 lakh was shown to be Covishield and 1.03 lakh was Covaxin.
