Actress Gauahar Khan, who played a key role in her latest film, 14 Phere, says it was fun for her to portray a funny elderly lady on screen.
Gauahar told IANS: “When the first assignment came to me, I was asked if I could play the senior dZi mummy on the screen, and I said,“ Let me hear the story first ”! When I heard the narration, I realized that she is a young actress from the Delhi theater scene and is playing an older character in a comic situation. So it seemed to me quite interesting, but also difficult, because in the film I played two characters. I have to say ‘Dilly Kee Meryl Streep’ was so cool !! “
The film’s story revolves around Sanjay and Aditi, played by Vikrant Massey and Kriti Harband, respectively, who plan to flee to get married as their families will not approve of their inter-caste marriage.
Directed by Devanshu Singh, the film also stars Jamil Khan, Yamini Das, Vinit Kumar, Priyanshu Singh and others.
’14 Phere ‘is broadcast on ZEE5.
