President appoints Vice Chancellors of 12 central universities


The President of Indian Friday has appointed vice-rectors of 12 central universities. At the same time, 12 out of 22 positions of vice-chancellor were filled. These universities had long vacancies in venture capital positions and the decision was made taking into account all the recommendations mentioned by the University Grants Commission.

Haryana Central University: Tankeshwar Kumar

Central Himachal Pradesh University: Sat Prakash Bansal

Jammu Central University: Sanjeev Jain

Jharkhand Central University: Kshiti Bhushan Das

Karnataka Central University: Battu Satyanarayana

Central Tamil Nadu University: Mutukalingan Krishnan

Central University of Hyderabad: Basuthkar J Rao

South Bihar Central University: Kameshwar Nath Singh

North East Hill University: Prabha Shankar Shukla

Guru Gasidas: Alok Kumar Chakrawal

Maulana Azad National University of Urdu (MANUU): Syed Aynul Hasan

Manipur University: N. Lokender Singh

A total of 10 central universities, including JNU and DU, have vacant vice-chancellorships.
