After showing “good results” in the Bihar Assembly elections, the AIMIM party announced on Sunday that it will compete for 100 seats in the 2022 Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. President of the All India Majils-i-Ittehadul-Muslim (AIMIM) Asaduddin Owaysi announced that they will participate in the polls of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly in alliance with the Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP), led by Om Prakash Rajbhar, and Bhagidaari Sankalp Morcha, parties.
The Hyderabad MP announced on Twitter in Hindi that his party would participate in polls of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly. He usually posts his message on the social network in English.
“Regarding the elections in the state of Uttar Pradesh, we decided to nominate our candidates for 100 seats. The party has begun the selection process and has also released candidate / applicant application forms, ”Owaysi tweeted.
In another tweet, the head of AIMIM said: “We are with OP Rajbhar Sahab ‘Bhaagidaari Sankalp Morcha.’ We have not held any negotiations with any other party regarding elections or unification. ” Polls of congregations in Uttar Pradesh are slated for early next year.
In last year’s elections for the Bihar assembly, AIMIM won five seats (versus 20) in the Muslim-dominated region of Simanchal, on the border with West Bengal.
