A government official in the Devas district of Madhya Pradesh received an angry note from a thief who was disappointed that he could not find enough money and valuables at the officer’s residence. He left a note there, in which he asked “why the house was locked when there was no money.”
“Jab paise nahi oni toh lock nahi karna that, collector (Why did they lock the house when there was no money, collector), ”says a note posted on social networks.
According to Umrao Singh, chief of the Kotwali police station, 30,000 rupees in cash and some jewelry were stolen from Trilokhan Singh Gaura’s residence. He is currently appointed as the Division Magistrate (SDM) in Hategaon City.
Police said SDM had not been home for the past 15 days. SDM learned of the theft when he returned home Saturday night. He filed a complaint with the police after discovering that his belongings were scattered around the house and some cash and jewelry were missing.
It is noteworthy that the highest officials of the district police live in the area where the official residence of the DDM is located.
Police said the thief used Trilokhan Singh Gour’s notebook and pen to write the note. Meanwhile, the police said that an EPI was registered against unidentified persons and that an investigation is currently underway.
